Engine coolant system

Your engine coolant system has five components each critical to the safe operation of your engine.
The radiator: The radiator allows the coolant fluid pumped through it by the water pump to pass from the top to bottom. The fluid flows through small tubes inside which are cooled as the air passes through the radiator. The raditor is made of metal and could rust and will eventually wear out.
The cooling fans: When your engine is already warm and idling or operating at low speed the radiator needs more air to cool the fluid so the fans are activated to keep air passing through the radiator when your engine is operated at low speed.
The fans turn on and off automatically depending upon the cooling needs of your engine. They can be mechanically or elctrically operated or both. If any of the components that control the fans breaks down your engine will not receive enough cooling air and you risk sever engine damage.
Engine Coolant: which is designed to bring your vehicle up to operating temperature quickly while preventing it from running too hot.
Water pump: which creates pressure to circulate the coolant from the engine into the radiator.
Thermostat: which regulates the coolant temperature to maintain a proper operating temperature of around 190 degrees.
